Patching at the heart of what we do
At One Tree at a Time, patching projects are at the heart of our circular approach. Surplus and damaged outdoor garments are carefully repaired, patched, adapted, and reinforced, extending their life and keeping them in use.
Each patch tells a story of care, skill, and reuse, turning worn gear into functional, resilient clothing while shifting attitudes away from disposability and towards valuing what we already have.
As a community we have designed, screen-printed and sewn 10’s of thousands of patches. This work has taken place in beautiful community workshops, run by the incredible Zelia.
Patching Branded uniforms
Local brands often end up with excess ski gear. Garments that have been branded with their logos, these are not appropriate for redistribution in the current condition. So, we patch over the branding. We work with ex-uniform outdoor clothing, carefully patching over existing branding to give each garment a new life.
By covering logos, we transform items that might otherwise be discarded into usable, creative garments that can be worn again. This simple act of patching allows high-quality gear to return to the outdoors, extending its life and making reuse possible where it otherwise wouldn’t be.
Over the last few years we have patched 1000’s of garments, returning them to the mountains.

Supreme Ski School have generously donated their surplus ski uniforms to One Tree at a Time. These garments have been instrumental in helping us grow our projects, and have been repaired, patched, and integrated into both the Patching, UNPARALD and Made to Be Worn initiatives.
